That brings us to vapings new world integrations. Let’s discuss the past present and future of this forever growing & adaptable habit.
What Does It Mean to Integrate Tech into Vaping
Vaping has always been a form of technology, just look at the precision behind its coils, batteries, and digital screens displaying everything from battery life to flavour levels. In fact, we already have smart vapes on the market with built-in apps for music, step tracking, WhatsApp, calendars, and even weather updates, basically a pocket-sized smartphone that happens to produce clouds.
The next wave of tech integration will focus on experience and functionality. Think draw sensors that learn your rhythm, intelligent battery chips, advanced temperature control, and touchscreens offering an entire suite of phone-like applications, all designed to make vaping smarter, smoother, and more intuitive.
Many of these innovations already exist in prototype form or in limited releases, but haven’t yet reached mainstream affordability. The real turning point for vaping tech will come when these “bells and whistles” become standard, not premium, when advanced integration is as common as the vape itself.
What Does It Mean to Integrate AI into Vaping
To clarify the big difference between these two (Tech = functionality & tools) and (AI = Decision making and adaptive learning). My instincts tell me we are a long way off from this era, although I believe the integration won’t be too hard a feat. We can only imagine what it would be like, so let’s try.
AI will make the experience profoundly better by manipulating the only tools it can:
Battery: Your battery will only use power when and where it needs to, touch screens will only turn on when you are looking at it and coils will only heat up when there is someone pulling/drawing from the vape.
Coils: AI will learn how hot you like you coils (ultimate taste satisfaction). The AI will ask questions and make suggestions to curate this experience.
Juice: Same thing for this, after some time using the vape & giving it instructions on which flavors you like, the vape can adjust naturally VG & PG or even add new mixes to your juice to curate the ultimate concoctions.
Alternate features: Adaptability to your goals and mood. Maybe you are trying to quit, so asking the vape to help you means less smoke and less nicotine every day. Even nighttime mode can be activated, using more drowsy terpenes to allow for better sleep.
These are only some features we can assume might happen. The reality is that it will get a lot more complex that just that, there is always another step to take towards convenience for mankind.
What Companies Are Already Doing It: Smart Vape Examples
This falls more on the side of Heets than vaping, but they are going a similar direction.

The IQOS app connects via Bluetooth to your device, letting you see diagnostics, usage history, lock/unlock device features, adjust illumination, manage smart gestures, & more.
Via the app, you can personalize features (vibration, LED, etc.), access tutorials and troubleshooting, track your consumption statistics, do firmware updates, and more.
PAX Labs
Here we have a company that is doing this with cannabis dry herb vaporizers. What they are doing is revolutionary for the industry.
Their app allows you to: set temperature preferences (fine-tune by degree), find compatible pods, read pod ingredient info, monitor vapor/heat settings, see usage stats. They collect session data (temperature used, length of sessions, etc.). The PAX “device finder” (PAXFinder) lets you locate your device through the app/web dashboard.
Vaporesso (AXON Chip & smarter control)
This is more on the actual vaping side we are meant to be looking at, in terms of PG & VG vapes.
They’ve created the AXON chip, which supports multiple intelligent modes: F(t) mode (flavour balancing), Pulse mode (pulsing during a puff), Smart TC (temperature control that auto-recognizes coil type), and a DIY mode. These companies are already doing the impossible, pushing boundaries and creating a fully developed systems that can update on its own. This is happening “as we have seen” to all types of vapes.
What Could Be the Major Benefits of This
These systems new AI & Tech systems ideas could help people with many healthy daily acts. The AI could be used to help those with addiction to slowly ween them off the nicotine and amount they smoke. The technology can & will improve coil temperatures to make sure they don’t burn or overheat your e-liquid.
Warnings can be given to vapers with low E-liquid left or if the coil has gotten too old, ensuring they don’t smoke carcinogens from burnt coils. These vapes will last longer and won’t be replaced, rather fixed, which also helps tremendously with the environment. No more disposables lying everywhere causing pollution and fire hazards.
Possible dangers of Vapings New World Integrations
Privacy and surveillance, cameras on vapes could be a risk of exposing people’s privacy. Data captured on accounts that will be created could be sold or misused as well. Using these analytics for marketing & not for the consumers benefit.

We all know about our regular everyday vape. We have also seen a variety of specialized vapes like no nicotine vapes, vapes in which you can manually change the nicotine level or the ice level, vapes in which you can change the flavour with a touch of a button. More recently we have experienced:

Caffeine Vapes
Nootropics (e.g. L-theanine, botanical actives) in minimal doses.
All of which we are going to discuss in detail now. As well as why we haven’t been seeing vitamin vapes around & why we probably won’t for a very long time (if ever).
CBD Vaping
Something which began in 2016-2018 in North America and Europe. The 2018 U.S. Farm Bill legalized hemp-derived CBD (containing less than 0.3% THC), and suddenly every wellness brand from LA to London wanted to bottle “calm” and “clarity.” While tinctures and gummies dominated the health aisle, vaping offered a faster, flashier entry point for the smokers out there.
Brands promised their customers the usual effects of CBD (anti-anxiety, pain relief, mood enhancement, improved focus etc). A therapeutic alternative to nicotine, turning the idea from “Vice” into “Wellness”.
The first wave of vapes was designed just like normal vape flavour: propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and CBD isolate as well as some flavouring with terpenes, couldn’t be simpler. So, what is the big deal?
What happens when you heat up CBD isolate
Low-Medium Heat: At low to moderate temps (160–180°C), CBD vaporizes efficiently, maintaining its chemical integrity and delivering predictable effects.
High Heat: At high temps (above 230°C), common in poorly calibrated or disposable vape pens, CBD can degrade into other compounds, including Δ9-THC (psychoactive) or cannabielsoin (oxidized byproduct). Which isn’t exactly the idea now is it.
Studies have shown that extreme heating can also produce toxic degradation products like methacrolein and formaldehyde, mainly when the carrier liquids (PG/VG) overheat.
Companies are catching up now using ceramic coils instead & slovent free distillates. Many brands now emphasize terpene preservation, not just for flavor, but because terpenes also lower vaporization temperature and protect cannabinoids from burning.
THC Vaping
This came as a surprise to most people when I say this was only just ahead of CBD vaping, starting around 2015-2016. As an underground trend, an alternative to burning cannabis out in the open. This was a chance to have a more discrete method, with 300% more efficiency. Get higher faster and more discretely, doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
After that it turned into a mainstream trend pushed by legalization in some countries or states. Early adopters were in U.S. states like California, Colorado, and Washington, where legal dispensaries began selling cartridges filled with cannabis distillate, a thick, amber oil containing 80–95% Δ9-THC. The pitch was irresistible: no rolling, no smell, no ash, just instant, controlled effects in a sleek little pen.
What happens to THC under different temperatures
THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol) is relatively stable under heat, definitely more than CBD to say the least.
Optimal vaporization range: around 155–175°C. At this range, THC aerosolizes efficiently without significant breakdown.
Above 220°C: THC begins to degrade into compounds like CBN (cannabinol), mildly psychoactive but more sedative.
Beyond that point, you start producing aromatic hydrocarbon byproducts (like benzene and methacrolein) if the oil or carrier overheats.
Terpenes (which give the strain its flavor and aroma) vaporize even earlier, between 120–160°C, and they can oxidize or burn quickly if the vape runs too hot.
FYI: The tip of a joint burns at 600–900°C (1110–1650°F) which means complete combustion, cannabinoids and terpenes are destroyed, and toxic byproducts form (CO, tar, benzene, etc.). While the mid-section gets to about 200–400°C (390–750°F), so at least you will get some flavour out of that and less incinerated particles.
Caffeine vaping
Caffeine vapes appeared around 2019-2021, born out of the energy on demand movement, when everything energy was flying off the shelves and there were more energy drinks than any other type of cooldrink. The idea was instant energy, no sugar, no calories and no wait.
Products like HEALTHVAPE Energy, Melo Air Caffeine Diffuser, and Inhale Health Caffeine Pen promised quick mental boosts via inhaled caffeine and vitamin B12. They looked identical to disposable nicotine vapes, same sleek hardware, fruity flavors, LED tips, just repurposed for a “wellness” audience who didn’t want the nicotine stigma.
What Happens Chemically When You Vape Caffeine
Caffeine’s sublimation (vaporization) point: around 178°C, but that’s under ideal lab conditions in pure form.
When heated with carrier liquids like PG or VG (used in vapes), caffeine often decomposes before it fully vaporizes, producing bitter degradation products.
This means a lot of the “caffeine vapor” may never actually deliver meaningful doses — or it could break down into 1,3,7-trimethyluric acid and related compounds that have unknown inhalation safety.
Right now caffeine vaping is not ideal since the complexity of is just too far out of reach. Caffeine does not dissolve in oil, its only water soluble (dissolvable). Since this would hurt too much to smoke, its unethical. Maybe it’s best to smoke a coffee flavored vape and just drink something with caffeine in it at the same time.
Smoking caffeine can be dangerous & is not researched enough. The lungs aren’t designed to digest caffeine or other vitamins, that’s the digestive tracks job.
Vaping vitamins
Yes, this is something people have tried, not for commercial sale, but mostly for TikTok trends, social media experiments, and personal curiosity. The idea of “inhaling your vitamins” popped up around 2017–2019, right when CBD and caffeine vapes started making waves.
Some of these so-called “wellness vapes” came from the same companies we mentioned earlier. But the mindset behind them — that if the ingredients are healthy, then inhaling them must be healthy too — is completely flawed. We’re designed to breathe air, which is roughly 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and a trace of argon, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. Anything outside of that formula isn’t natural to our lungs, and definitely not doing us any favors.
The real danger is that the risks are invisible. Just because you can’t see the damage doesn’t mean it isn’t happening, in fact, that makes it more dangerous. If something goes wrong, it’s not like we can just cough it out. Think popcorn lung, nobody saw it coming, but it was already too late when they did.
Alternatives
To really understand what it means to have a health vape is very simple. Take what is good for us to inhale naturally (nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor etc) & amplify the healthy ones or amplify the scents you would naturally pick up in the wild or in your foods.
Oxygen inhalers:
There are a few companies that have done this and have been successful as well. Nothing better than a boost of oxygen while you are working out, trying to wake up and just for kicks. Recreational oxygen is the healthiest manner of inhaling molecules for fun.
Nose vapes / nasal inhalers (scent altering devices that go inside your nose)
A feeling good inhaler. Don’t stress yourself about unhealthy habits anymore and carry around your own scent inhaler that works like a nasal spray, except this is pure recreational. The kick is the scent & the side effect is nothing.
Conclusion: First real breath
Maybe the future of vaping isn’t in a cartridge or a cloud, maybe it’s in stepping outside for one.
We’ve reached a point where everyone’s chasing some form of stimulation, caffeine in vapor, vitamins in mist, nicotine in disguise. But none of these “functional highs” actually fix the problem; they just rename it.
Real energy, real calm, and real satisfaction don’t come from an LED-tipped device. They come from oxygen, literal breath, movement, sunlight, adrenaline. The kind of dopamine you earn by doing something, not inhaling something. Exercise, fresh air, new experiences, they’re the original “natural stimulants,” and they’ve got no expiry date or side effects.

September 30, 2025We want clouds, not landfills. The era of Eco-Vaping has begun & countries are becoming aware of the dangerous waste that vapes produce. This will be no easy task for any company or country to deal with & just how far are we to cracking the disposable vs decomposable vaping code?
Are decomposable vapes possible?
well, the reality and short answer of it is “no”. We cannot yet create a fully decomposable vape, unless there are some secret alien files out there, we don’t know about. Batteries and circuitry are the main culprits here, lithium does not look good in a landfill.
Lithium-ion batteries just don’t degrade, maybe 100, 500 or 1000 years, we just don’t know. So, this problem is permanent. So, what is the solution:
Biodegradable shells: Types of special designed paper, plant or cardboard shells can do the trick to replace plastic casings. This resolves one issue.
Designed for disassembly: The trick here is to make the vapes materials re-usable or recyclable in a safe manner. Less fires caused & decreased hazmat issues. This means people have to be trusted to put them into specific recycle boxes (provided by the stores that sell them).
Water based e-liquids & more compact devices: Less waste & less chemicals.
Vape companies already there
CCELL Eco Star (cannabis oil AIO): PLA biodegradable housing + removable Li-ion battery for separate recycling. It’s not “throw it in the compost,” but it’s a clear design-for-recycling step.
Aquios / Innokin “Aquios Bar / Innobar/ Lota”: Paper-based body (up to 95% recyclable), 30% water e-liquid; several SKUs built around this platform.
ANDS “SLIX”: 100% recyclable cardboard shell + biodegradable silicone mouthpiece/tail; an early “eco-disposable” approach.
How much waste is vaping creating already?
The US snapshot (2025): Around about 178.7 million disposables sold/year → so approximately 5.7 devices tossed per second. The stats are astounding (not in the good way), so this equals to around 30 tons of lithium batteries being discarded this year and around 500 000 disposables thrown away daily. Beach clean ups have seen a 150% increase in vapes on the shores this year as well.
UK stat used by policymakers: Govt cited around 5 million disposables binned weekly. So about 8 disposables thrown away every second. This was of course during pre-ban on the one use vapes. This caused fire hazards in the landfills, trucks and communal bins.
The rest of the world: The two countries have the more accurate readings of this waste compared to others. Imagine what the rest of the world is like, seeing the stats of only those two countries, the amount of nonbiodegradable & dangerous chemicals being incorrectly disposed of is for certain an immense measurement.
What countries are banning (mainly) disposable vapes and why?
There are a few main reasons why. Youth uptake being a huge issue everywhere, litter and e-waste being a big one as people do not respect others and their surroundings, hazardous fires can easily be caused inside a bin mixed with loads of flammable trash and lithium.
Belgium
Belgium kicked things off in Europe, banning disposables from the 1st of January 2025. Their reasoning? Too much plastic waste and too many teens puffing neon-colored sticks.
United Kingdom
From the 1st of June 2025, the UK goes smoke-free on single-use vapes. Shops can’t just dump leftover stock either, they’re legally bound to recycle it. Big win for bins and recycling plants.
France
France pulled the trigger in February 2025, saying “au revoir” to throwaway vapes. Their focus: protecting young people and saving the sea of discarded plastic tubes.
New Zealand
The Kiwis banned sales, supply, and manufacture of disposables from 17 June 2025. They’re blending youth protection with their already strict smoke-free laws, making NZ a world leader in vape regulation.
Australia
Australia never played nice with disposables. Imports were blocked from January 2024, and only pharmacy-sold therapeutic vapes made the cut from late 2024. Through 2025 the rules keep tightening — youth access is the main bullseye.
Ireland
Ireland is teeing up its own nationwide ban, while Northern Ireland automatically follows the UK’s June 2025 restrictions. It’s only a matter of time before the Republic officially flicks the switch.
South Africa
Here at home, the new Tobacco Products & Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill is crawling through parliament. No outright disposable ban yet, but the direction is clear: more restrictions, less plastic clutter, and tighter rules for sellers, in the near or far future.
What should be done with expired/broken vapes?
The responsible thing to do with vapes is to dispose of them properly, the store you purchased them from should have their own recyclable bin that is dealt with correctly. Throwing away your’ vape in the bin means risk of fire (lithium + vape fluid) and contaminated waste.
Stores have a responsibility to send their broken vapes back to the supplier which has to recycle or dispose of the devices in a legal manner.
Disposable vs Devices (waste reality check)
This is where you can help, purchasing a disposable vape might be easy and sometimes more affordable. Yet you are creating a larger carbon footprint for yourself and others. Devices last longer, they often work better and can even be more affordable in the long run.
There is a good chance that vaping could be banned all together from all the waste, which is produced by disposables. Jump onto the device band wagon and save the earth & convince your friends, set an example.
Conclusion
Disposable vapes might be convenient, yet the world is quickly waking up to their ugly side, mountains of waste, fire-hazard batteries, and streets littered with plastic tubes.
The real takeaway? Vaping doesn’t have to be disposable. Refillable devices and decomposable designs are pointing the way forward. If we want clouds without the landfill, the future is simple: reuse, recycle, and rethink what’s in your pocket.

September 22, 2025Smoking in today’s world has reached an all-time low. Yet vaping has hit an all-time high for all age groups. This is a greater worry for the younger age groups, and you’ll find out why. Whilst vaping might be a save and grace for older age groups, used as a crutch before giving up smoking.
Why Younger Bodies and Brains Are More Vulnerable
The key here is development, the pre-frontal cortex does not fully develop until the age of 25 by which South African kids could have legally been smoking for up to seven years (generally they have been smoking much longer as the rules are not properly enforced).
Smoking other products like tobacco and Cannabis have much heavier effects on the body and brain than vaping yet vaping has a significant impact on the pre-frontal cortex thanks to its high nicotine content. Vaping has up to 5 times more nicotine intake than cigarettes have.
This means the pre-frontal cortexes development becomes stunted. This young soul who smokes vapes regularly will become more dependent and less mature than the rest of his peers. Possibly leading to more detrimental long terms issues (obviously not always the case).
Why Vaping Is Risky for You
When one is developing it is easy to say they are more vulnerable to temptation, as well as addiction and when the device your smoking has up to five times more nicotine than what us humans are generally used to, this can be problematic.
Lung irritation and cardiovascular problems also lie on the path of vaping. Not as bad as other products researched so far, yet still a deep worry for sporting issues in the future. Competing at professional levels means you’re at a disadvantage already.
Cognitive impact like we spoke about above also has a tole. Mood regulation becomes unstable. Focus becomes foggy and memory doesn’t exactly improve.
Temptation station
Smoking has never been so delightful. Especially to the younger demographics, it’s not only the nicotine. Flavors of every kind are being created, blends like bubblegum & banana, raspberry & watermelon, apple and honey, everything we eat has been turned into a vape flavor.
Vape design: humans love a good button to press or shining light, its irresistible. Look no further, vape brands are coming out with shining stars, brightly colored flavor levels, neon battery percentage and anything else to catch the eye.
Accessibility: you don’t even need to press a button to smoke, just inhale and the vape turns on itself and starts burning (auto drag). Buy them in small enough sizes to hide anywhere and from anyone, your parents, the teacher, security and even yourself.
False safety: many believe that vaping is way healthier than smoking anything else. While this might be true for now (while studies continue) there are still health risks that should easily be seen. For young minds this is not something they can perceive.
Parents and Schools: What Are They Doing About It?
Schools in South Africa and worldwide are adopting stricter policies, random checks, vape detectors in bathrooms, and education programs warning students of health risks. Parents are stepping in with conversations at home, yet many struggle to bridge the knowledge gap because vaping feels so different from smoking. Some communities are pushing for tighter regulation on advertising, packaging, and retail sales to minors.
Long-Term Effects of Teen Vaping
Whether you are underaged or 18 years and above, long term vaping has its consequences.
Addiction Potential: Since there is more nicotine, means there is a greater desire for it. The longer you smoke the harder it will be to quit, it becomes a part of you. Not mentioning that it can lead to other harmful substances like tobacco and cannabis out of curiosity.
Increased mental struggle: Especially for those at a younger age, once you are a medium to heavy user the age stunt begins. The biggest effect of this is focus and the ability to be sociable with your peers. Birds of a feather flock together, therefore smokers stick together. Creating a more dangerous ethos for the child.
Raspatory problems: These are of concern for reasons that lie within talent. Imagine you’re a professional rugby player and you can’t meet the standards of your team because you have lung damage or being a western province athlete that runs out of breath faster than the rest. Not good.
When your older
Smoking vapes as an older individual is still not ideal, since it comes with its own set of issues. Although having fully developed, knowing who you are, and the dangers out there means you have responsibility over the situation. The issues don’t fall on anyone else’s shoulders except yours.
Vaping might be a crutch for cigarettes or a process in which you are quitting. The side effects feel more real as your body is more in touch with itself and you are aware of the future sacrifices you are making.

September 18, 2025The relationship between vaping and fitness is becoming an important topic for athletes and everyday gym-goers alike. While vaping is often seen as a “cleaner” alternative to smoking, its effects on oxygen capacity, stamina, and recovery are still being studied. While it’s obvious that it effects performance, just how much is the question.
Oxygen Capacity
Respiratory impact: Vaping doesn’t contain tar like cigarettes, yet the inhalation of chemicals and heated aerosols can still irritate the lungs. Even mild irritation can reduce lung efficiency, which lowers oxygen exchange.
VO₂ max concerns: Oxygen uptake (VO₂ max) is what every athlete worries about. Any compromise in lung elasticity or airway function may affect performance in endurance sports like running, cycling, or swimming. For those who smoke vapes, their VO2 max does not look good in the long run.
Nicotine factor: Then there is the obvious, exactly why it causes major effects. If the vape contains nicotine, blood vessels constrict, which can reduce oxygen delivery to muscles. Resulting in poor performance.
Stamina During Exercise
Short-term truth: Nicotine can act as a stimulant, increasing heart rate and creating a brief surge in alertness. This may feel like an energy lift at the start of a workout although the crash is not worth the benefit. This can be risky for those at risk of heart attack. Rather take a healthy pre-workout.
Long-term drain: Elevated heart rate and reduced oxygen delivery means the body tires faster. This can make you feel feint, and you can even pass out. Vaping and exercising do not go together; your risk of health damage is significantly greater while your lungs are being opened up wider than usual thanks to exercising.
Endurance trade-off: Over time, stamina may plateau or even decrease, as the cardiovascular system works harder to compensate.
Recovery After Training
not only does vaping not gel with exercise, but it also has a terrible effect when smoked after gym.
Circulation matters: Proper blood flow is key to transporting nutrients and repairing muscles post-exercise. Nicotine and other compounds in vapes can limit vasodilation in turn slowing recovery. Also causing higher risks of clots.
Inflammation response: Some studies suggest vaping increases oxidative stress and inflammation markers, which could hinder muscle repair and delay recovery. This may be inflammation (body’s natural response to heal), but it’s not the good kind.
Sleep quality: Nicotine disrupts deep sleep cycles, essential for growth hormone release and muscle repair. Poor sleep equals poor recovery.
All in All
Vaping may the healthier route to other smoking alternatives, yet there will always be questions that define an unhealthy image for it. Smoking is habit formed thanks to nicotine (majority thanks) and nicotine is a big issue when it comes to exercise, in any form.
Smoking vapes before, during, after and even that night before sleeping does more damage than smoking it if you don’t exercise. Nicotine disrupts important processes & puts you at risk for more than a few things. You may be able to smoke a little and still feel fine majority of the time.

The real juice lies within real life case studies/incidents that are occurring more often with higher severity. Although vaping is not the only bad guy to blame. Stay with me as we uncover abundant nail-biting stories and facts in popcorn long | myth or reality blog.
Before we begin
What is popcorn lung technically? Popcorn lung is bronchiolitis obliterans, tiny air tubes in your lungs called bronchioles, think of them like the branches on a tree that carry air all the way to the leaves (your air sacs). When they get damaged by foreign chemicals rather severely, the body immediately tries to heal them.
This healing process is rather rough and fast, leaving behind scar tissue. Those scars narrow and block the bronchioles, which is the serious problem. This damage is permanent, no cure, no long-term healing, you are just damaged for life. Causing wheezing, shortness of breath and dry coughs. Vaping-associated Constrictive Bronchiolitis in a Woman in Her 40s
No name is given for privacy reasons, yet all the evidence is there. She was a regular daily vape (with no confirmed consumption amount) for several years before she started to get symptoms. With no other history of lung disease over working with heavy chemicals, the culprit was obvious.
She developed rapid onset, shortness of breath and cough. Pulmonary function tests showed severe obstruction and importantly no substantial response to bronchodilators. (That means intense inhalers weren’t doing much.) A CT scan of her chest showed extensive air trapping. (Air trapping = air gets stuck in the small airways, one of the hallmarks of bronchiolitis obliterans.)
So, they did a lung cryobiopsy (a biopsy of lung tissue) after other causes had been ruled out, and they saw airway inflammation and prominent bronchial-associated lymphoid tissue. Basically, they did all the tests, and she came out positive for popcorn lung.
Notes of this Case: This is a highly unique case as there is abundant evidence in all the tests done on her. Most people will never have these tests done since lack of funds, tools, time, doctors and many other reasons. So, there are a lot of other cases like this out there, there just isn’t the evidence.
17-year-old in Canada, intensive vaping of flavored e-cigarettes + THC
In this case we can immediately see there are other contributing factors to the lung damage other than vape fluid, THC is also involved. After months of daily heavy vaping, they developed cough, fever, breathing trouble and they were hospitalized. Doctors said case it looked more like popcorn lung than anything else.

How Does This Happen: The Real Science

Biological process: injury to bronchioles leads to inflammation causing healing with fibrous scar tissue resulting in narrowing/obliteration of airway lumen which equals reduced airflow, shortness of breath, wheezing, cough. Over time can lead to respiratory failure.
How to Avoid Popcorn Lung
Other than the obvious solutions towards the issue (quitting) here are some good ways to avoid this rather serious conundrum.
Avoid flavored e-liquids with diacetyl or untested flavorings: Check lab tests or certifications on the products you’re currently using or intend on trying. There is no harm in a little research to save your long-term health.
Use regulated products: Devices and liquids from reputable manufacturers, markets with oversight. The more popular a brand often means they passed most of the tests. Allowing them to sell to further reaches.
Avoid modifying or mixing unknown chemicals: Don’t DIY, don’t use black-market vape or additives. We used to make our own vape liquids in our chemistry lab at school. This is a good example of what not to do.
Don’t vape intensively: Limit exposure: frequency, depth of inhale, avoid high power settings. This is the golden rule, don’t vape like your life depends on it. Smoke rarely and softly, decreasing your risk. Cloud chasing isn’t cool, it’s crazy dangerous.

Why Some Think It’s a Myth
Popcorn lung is incredibly rare and doesn’t happen to everyone, even if they are exposed to dangerous chemicals or smoke rigorously. The lack of evidence in large populations is also a contributing factor, especially when there are so many people who smoke vapes all day for many years and don’t have any sever underlying issues.
Some countries have banned diacetyl so the risk of getting popcorn lung is considerably diminished. There can also be a lot of confusion between media and hard evidence from doctors as to the exact causes of some lung damaged cases. Many people also don’t get the chance to go to the doctors if they can’t afford it and think their symptoms are minor (they just live with it).
Conclusion
Popcorn lung is real. It’s a serious, irreversible lung disease that has been documented in industrial settings and some recent vaping cases. That said, the evidence that vaping commonly causes popcorn lung is weak, the cases are rare and often caused by long use of unregulated products.

What Does “Nicotine-Free” Vaping Even Mean?
The answer might sound self-explanatory, but it helps to look at what remains in a nicotine-free e-liquid once nicotine is removed.
Propylene Glycol (PG)

The goal isn’t to demonize or glorify vaping, but to ask the central question: does secondhand vapor pose harm to those nearby? We will dig deep into the technicalities behind the subject and provide solutions to the dilemma.
The difference in chemicals between inhalation and exhalation
When someone inhales vapor, their body absorbs only a portion of the e-liquid aerosol, so let’s see what is left.
1st Inhalation:
The vapor contains nicotine (if present), propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and flavoring chemicals. Studies estimate that 60–80% of nicotine is absorbed in the lungs.
Including all the other chemical like, Formaldehyde (a known carcinogen) & Acetaldehyde, acrolein, benzene, toluene, and xylene (at much lower levels than cigarettes, but still detectable), heavy metals, ultra fine particles and we really could go on.
Exhalation:
Roughly 15–40% of the nicotine, along with ultrafine particles, aldehydes, and trace heavy metals, is released back into the air. Unlike cigarette smoke, there’s no tar, but chemicals like formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein can still be measured in the exhaled plume.
You are basically still getting a little bit of everything, practically no difference in the types of chemicals, only the amount is different and even then, up to 30% of particles are still present.
How Fast Vapor Diffuses into the Air
This is a really big deal and often what people miss. Diffusion is what you should worry about.
No airflow (closed room/house):
Ultrafine particles (less than 1 micron) can linger for 20–30 minutes before significantly dispersing. Concentrations can build up to several hundred micrograms per cubic meter, depending on room size and number of people vaping.
At these levels we are talking about, it’s tiny compared to a single puff, about thousandths of a percent per breath. Yet you could be in this room for a long time, taking hundreds of breaths.
Good ventilation & airflow:
A window open in a room makes a huge difference. One needs to get the airflow right though. For this to happen you need two space open to the outdoors, one on each side of the room or house. Like a door and a window or two large windows open.
Studies show particle concentrations drop to background levels within 1–2 minutes. Ventilation makes a massive difference, reducing exposure by 80–95%. We may pick up on the smell, that’s because our noses are extremely good at their job. Not because your inhaling lots of smoke.
Signs and symptoms of exposure
For non-users, exposure doesn’t usually cause long-term harm at the levels measured, but sensitive individuals may notice:
Irritation of the throat, nose, or eyes.
Headaches or dizziness (linked to nicotine traces and ultrafine particles).
Worsened asthma symptoms in children or adults with respiratory conditions.
Nausea or coughing after prolonged exposure in poorly ventilated areas.
These effects are generally mild and temporary but point to the fact that secondhand vapor is not 100% benign.
Secondhand vape vs secondhand smoke
Here are some highlighted important differences between these two. There are few large differences between these two.
Cigarette smoke:
Contains over 7,000 chemicals, at least 70 known carcinogens.
Secondhand smoke exposure is proven to cause cancer, heart disease, and respiratory illness.
Lingers in the air and on surfaces (“thirdhand smoke”) for hours.
Cigarette smoke is much heavier and so therefor harder to get rid of in the air. The smoke also lingers on clothing and others surfaces creating a yellow – black look.
Vape vapor:
Contains fewer chemicals, lower concentrations, and no combustion products (like tar or carbon monoxide).
Still contains nicotine, aldehydes, and ultrafine particles.
Disperses faster, especially with airflow, but can still cause irritation.
In short: secondhand vapor is less harmful than cigarette smoke, but “less harmful” does not mean harmless.

Case Study – 1
Imperial Brands’ patent ambush on early e‑cigarette makers (2013‑2015)
In 2013 Imperial Tobacco (now Imperial Brands) bought a portfolio of e‑cigarette patents from Dragonite International; its co‑founder Hon Lik is credited with inventing the modern e‑cigarette (the first inventor for the e-cigarette was actually a guy named joseph Robinson).
Then they decided to file at least eight U.S. lawsuits in March 2014 against vape‑upstarts including NJOY, 21st Century Smoke and Vapin Plus. On what grounds would they do this? Well, Imperial argued that their “metal tubes that heat nicotine‑laced liquid” were being copied. So, after a year of legal carpet‑bombing, Fontem (the subsidiary who filed the cases) reached settlements in late 2015.
The result granted Japan Tobacco and other defendants a global licence to Fontem’s patents. A good example of how big tobacco companies with deep pockets cut short pioneers of the industry and then offered them licensing “protection” at a fee. A well-played move.

R.J. Reynolds sues small vape sellers for using Camel and Salem names (2012‑2013)
Just when vaping startup companies where booming, Reynolds Innovations (a division of R.J. Reynolds) decided to sue people who dared to invoke its famous brands. In 2012 the company filed a trademark infringement suit against SAS Technologies, accusing the firm of using Camel and Winston names on e‑liquids.
In all fairness, this should be a standard for companies with large, branded names. To put your own products under a major corporate name such as Camel, tells people you’re looking for trouble.
A year later Reynolds sued vape entrepreneur John Thompson for selling liquid nicotine under the Camel and Salem labels. According to Convenience Store News, the case settled in July 2013; Thompson agreed to pay an undisclosed sum and stop using the trademarks.
In this case scenario, the vape entrepreneur was in the wrong, selling liquid nicotine under protected brand labels (Camel, Salem). The reason for it, to increase product sales. A dirty way to play the game. The message was clear: if you even whisper “Camel” near a bottle of vape juice, expect a court summons.
Here is the cherry on top. Simultaneously, Reynolds was preparing to launch its own Vuse e‑cigarette. Nothing says “embrace innovation” like suing your future competitors for doing the thing you’re about to start doing yourself. We all know how popular Vuse e-cigarettes release was.

Case study – 3
Lorillard buys blu eCigs for $135 million (2012)
Here we have a classic power move case, where both sides of the party got what they wanted. Lorillard being the first big U.S company to put their money where their mouth was (or so to say). Founded in 1760 and produced brands like Newport, Maverick, Old Gold, Kent and True. In April 2012 it announced that its subsidiary Lorillard Tobacco Co. would acquire Blu eCigs for $135 million in cash.
Taking an opportunity with both hands to own a major tobacco and e-cigarette company. A finger in two pies is better than one. Lorillard’s CEO explained that e‑cigarettes offered “many of the benefits of other smokeless products” while feeling familiar to adult smokers.
In other words it was good investment, thanks to it being less harmful than tobacco like (chewing tobacco, snus, nic pouches) yet it has the same look and effect as cigarettes do, so adult smokers would be happy to make the compromise.
The company promised to keep Blu as a separate business with its own management and to use Lorillard’s regulatory clout to expand distribution. A kind gesture to the employees I’m sure. Blu’s co‑founder Jason Healy called the deal “an extremely positive step” that would give the young company resources to expand research and distribution.
This buy‑out signaled that the cigarette giants were tired of litigating from the sidelines; they planned to own the category outright. A position in which most tobacco companies where in and were taking advantage of.

Case Study – 4
Altria’s Juul gamble and the antitrust backlash (2018‑2023)
2018: Altria (the company behind Marlboro) spent $12.8 billion to buy 35% of Juul, which was the hottest e-cigarette brand at the time. That deal valued Juul at a crazy $38 billion.
They wanted a piece of e-cigarette market from one of the biggest vaping companies in the U.S at the time (Juul). Giving them more access to customers and better distribution.
2019-2020: Losing billions by doing the right thing.
Juul quickly got blamed for a spike in teen vaping, which brought massive regulatory heat.
The FTC (competition watchdog) accused Altria and Juul of cutting a shady deal: Altria shut down its own vape brand (MarkTen) and promised not to compete, in exchange for that 35% Juul stake. To regulators, this looked like collusion, instead of competing, they were teaming up.
Juul’s value tanked, Altria’s $12.8B stake shrank to just $4.2B on paper.
Where those teens not going to buy vaping products anyway, despite the brand? How could such a good deal between two major companies go so sour? How very controversial
2023: Altria finally dumped Juul. They traded their remaining stake for some Juul patents and moved on, buying another vape company (NJOY) for $2.75B instead.

Patent wars and truce: BAT vs PMI and Juul vs NJOY (2024‑2025)
Two former allies we just spoke about, battling it out through the years. Altria (now owner of NJOY) and Juul, fighting over patents. International (PMI) and British American Tobacco (BAT) announced a global patent settlement.
Basically, ending the suing war between tobacco and vape companies that have been running rampant for years. The eight‑year truce allows each company to keep innovating, a cease‑fire motivated by mutually assured destruction after years of multi‑front litigation.
2025 January, the U.S. International Trade Commission sided with Juul and ordered a ban on imports of Altria’s NJOY ACE devices because they infringed Juul’s patents. Altria was not winning this war since 2019. The ruling forced Altria to halt NJOY ACE sales and take a hefty write‑down; analysts expect the company to redesign the product and relaunch in 2026.
Talk about being persistent, yet maybe there where major breaches in copies of equipment being used for speeding up production or quality. The patent wars show how Big Tobacco’s vaping ambitions have devolved into a circular firing squad: they now spend as much time suing each other as they do selling nicotine.

August 28, 2025Tobacco has long been known as the enemy of oral health, yet what is the result in question to vaping and oral health? Easy to say there must be effects towards it as well, yet to what extent. Staining of teeth, bad breath and unhealthy gums are all topics we will touch on in this blog.
Gums
Tobacco
Reduces blood flow to the gums, starving them of oxygen and nutrients. This leads to gum recession and slower healing after dental procedures. How does this happen ?
Nicotine tightening the blood vessels including the tiny capillaries in your gums. This limits the amount of oxygen and nutrients that can reach gum tissue.
Carbon monoxide displaces oxygen: When you smoke, carbon monoxide binds to red blood cells, reducing their ability to carry oxygen. Less oxygen = slower healing and weaker gum tissue.
Thicker blood, poorer circulation: Smoking increases platelet stickiness and blood viscosity. Your blood is literally thicker and more clot-prone, so circulation to fine tissues like your gums takes a hit.
Vaping
Vaping also causes irritation and restricted blood flow, though typically to a lesser extent than smoking. The nicotine in e-liquids still contributes to gum inflammation and can mask signs of gum disease.
Dry mouth = bacteria playground. Vaping can reduce saliva production. Saliva is your mouth’s natural defense, without enough, bacteria can build up, increasing the risk of gum disease and cavities.
Potential chemical exposure. Propylene glycol, flavorings, and other additives may damage gum cells or trigger immune responses. Long-term studies are limited, but early research shows changes in gum cell function and delayed healing.
Along with a few other reasons, they both do damage to your oral health. Tobacco being a lot more like a brick to the face compared to vaping like being thrown with a tennis bowl. Although long term research seems to favor vaping, since its less studied and more complicated.

Tobacco
Tar and nicotine stains: The dark compounds in tobacco (tar plus nicotine) stick to enamel, creating yellow-brown or even black stains over time. Stained enamel is easier for bacteria to cling to, so plaque formation accelerates. You know that terrible feeling of fury teeth when one hasn’t brushed in a while. Thats bacteria having a field day on your enamel.
pH imbalance and bacterial shift: Smoking alters your mouth’s pH and encourages “bad” bacteria that thrive in low-oxygen environments. These bacteria produce acids that erode enamel and inflame gums, creating a vicious cycle of decay and periodontal issues. FYI those acids they produce, take a guess where they come from.
Weakened enamel and slower repair: Tar and toxins don’t just stain—they damage the enamel surface, making it more porous and vulnerable. Combined with restricted blood flow, your teeth and gums can’t repair themselves effectively. This point brings it all together from the last topic.
Vaping
No tar, so less surface staining: Without the dark compounds from tobacco smoke, enamel doesn’t get that heavy yellow-brown coating. Your teeth usually look cleaner visually compared to a smoker’s. Although…
Sugary and acidic flavorings: Many e-liquids contain sugars or acids (like citric acid, malic acid, or caramel flavorings). These compounds soften and demineralize enamel over time, making teeth more prone to cavities and sensitivity. Even if your teeth aren’t visibly stained, the surface can be slowly weakening. This is dangerous because most people are highly un-aware of this fact.

Vaping is flavored and doesn’t carry such heavy compounds like tobacco, so it doesn’t have such a significant effect on the smell of your breath. Although it’s not entirely out of the picture just yet.
Reduced saliva in the mouth leads to no defense against bacteria, which in hand promotes tooth decay and as you could guess that leads to bad breath. A long with other chemicals taking their toll on on your teeth and restricted blood flow to your gums.
What you can do about it
Brush teeth frequently, especially after smoking if you can. Using fluoride toothpaste and an electric toothbrush ideally.
Floss as often as you can. Mainly after meals to get rid of anything bacteria can get its grips on.
Use an antiseptic or alcohol-free mouth wash to kill odor-causing bacteria without drying your mouth.
Drink plenty of water to keep a good saliva flow, combating bacteria.
Chew special types of gums (sugar free or xylitol) which will keep a good saliva production going.
Get regular checkups from the dentist and make sure they clean your teeth when you go.
Make healthy lifestyle choices, less smoking and less consumption of sugary or acidic products.
Do antimicrobial rinses and make sure your scrape your tongue off once a day. Thats the real hive of bacteria infestation.

So naturally it should be an important topic for us to be educated on, as it also has some fascinating branches of information and key uses.
The chemical compound that is nicotine
An alkaloid (C₁₀H₁₄N₂).
Found naturally in tobacco leaves (commonly known), as well as tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants and green peppers (all a part of the nightshade family). For the less well-known consumables you find on your dinner plate containing nicotine, you would have to eat hundreds of kilograms to equal one cigarette.
These nightshade family plants produce nicotine as a bug repellent. First synthesized in their roots and then carried to their leaves where bugs regularly feed. To a bug the nicotine targets the nervous system, overstimulating certain receptors and leading to their death.
How is nicotine made for vapes
There are two ways in which this is done:
Traditional extraction from tobacco:
Most nicotine you find in vapes are made from this process. They start by soaking the tobacco leaves in a solvent (usually ethanol or ammonia) which separates the nicotine. Then it’s purified into nic salts or freebase nicotine which they use in vapes. A common method thanks to tobaccos high nicotine content.
Synthetic nicotine (Lab-Made):
Also called TFN (tobacco free nicotine), an expensive and uncommon way to make nicotine. A niche market that caters for very little of the vape juices out there. Simply produced in a lab that takes other chemicals to build the nicotine chemical (C₁₀H₁₄N₂) in a lab.
Body consumption methods and effects by dosage
Inhalation (smoking/vaping).
Absorption through oral products (gum, patches, snus, pouches).
Speed of delivery: why smoking/vaping hits faster than other methods.
Dosages:
Low dosage (≈ 0.5–1 mg nicotine, about 1 light cigarette)-> Mild stimulation, slight mood lift, increased alertness, and a gentle rise in heart rate.
Moderate dosage (≈ 2–3 mg nicotine, about 3–4 light cigarettes)-> Noticeable cardiovascular effects (faster heartbeat, increased blood pressure), stronger dopamine release leading to focus, calm, or pleasure.

As a regular user would know, this all depends on your body’s tolerance towards the nicotine chemical. A pack a day smoker of a medium – heavy cigarette, won’t feel much when smoking at all. Whereas a nonsmoker might just pass out from having that many cigarettes a day.

Low dosage (≈ 0.5 mg nicotine, ~1 pull of a 3% vape)-> Improved focus, mild mood boost, and light stimulation of reward pathways.
Moderate dosage (≈ 2–3 mg nicotine, ~5–7 pulls of a 3% vape within a short period)-> Stronger dopamine and serotonin release, reinforcing the pleasure/reward loop that builds habit and dependence.
High dosage (≈ 5+ mg nicotine, ~12–15 pulls of a 3% vape in quick succession)-> Overstimulation of the brain’s receptors, possible anxiety, jitteriness, or triggering of the withdrawal-craving cycle.
Long-term use
The brain adapts by increasing the number of nicotinic receptors. This makes quitting difficult because even after stopping, those receptors remain, demanding stimulation until they reset over weeks to months.
Silent yet significant effects
Suppression of appetite: While nicotine should never be considered a good or healthy weight loss option. Nicotine has been one of the top long-term weight loss drugs in the last century. Studies done on mice show that frequent dosages are more effective in weight loss than high dosages.
Alters sleep quality: A none-smoker might tell you that after using nicotine they feel lethargic or sleepy. While frequent and heavy users will tell you they don’t get enough quality sleep. Nicotine reduces REM and deep sleep, leaving you restless and tired. This disrupts your natural flow of rest.
Affects stress perception: A complex understanding. The actions of smoking nicotine are seen as stress relief by the body and mind, deeper and longer breaths (breathing exercises), release of dopamine (usually felt when having a good time, taking a break from work to go smoke (seen as a opportunity to relax)
The reality is that it increases your heart rate, activates adrenal glands (fight or flight mode), blood pressure rises, and you become short of breath (a sign of the body being exhausted)

April 1, 2025While the truth can be hidden in many things, most of the time it’s very obvious. Vaping and the side effects. Here on this post, we will be looking at hard facts about vaping, tests and results. I shall also be giving my personal opinion as a once upon a time heavy vape smoker.
We will be sharing stories and giving insights from news reports and diving into some of the chemistry behind the product. Vaping is an unbelievably controversial topic and even more of a complicated system of effects.
Industry Influence & Lobbying
When vapes were first designed in 1963 (during a tobacco boom), there was a patent on it, so nobody wanted to buy the product. Rather, companies waited for the patent to expire and then produced their own products. Tobacco companies would also threaten or pay off any competitors even thinking of supporting vaping.
In 2004, there was no more denying that vaping was going to change the course of smoking history. Vapes came out and were being sold commercially as a way of “getting off cigarettes.” This slowly became the new-age revolution, although it didn’t always work as intended.
Many people ended up smoking both. Sometimes the opposite effect would take place—someone would start vaping and then end up on cigarettes or rolling tobacco. Statistics show that 30% of young teens and adults who start vaping end up smoking cigarettes in the U.S.
Why Has So Little Research Been Done on Vaping and the Side Effects?
Funny enough, both tobacco companies and vaping companies put a lot of funding into the health research of this product. But why would tobacco companies invest in research on their competitor’s product?
Tobacco companies fund research to debunk vaping, hoping to find something cancer-causing or related to lung disease to damage vaping sales.
Vaping companies do the opposite, funding research to prove that vaping is healthier than smoking cigarettes. The fight goes on, with both sides investing heavily in corporate battles.
Why Is There No Overall Result?
The truth is, there is. As hard as it is to swallow, vaping at the moment stands as the healthier product. However, this is not a definitive fact. Different parts of the world have different regulations on vaping and the side effects.
China, India, and Thailand have banned vaping altogether, while the UK and New Zealand promote it as harm reduction. We are all in suspense to see if there are any unforeseen effects of vaping that might emerge in the next 40 years.
Vaping is also always changing—more and more foreign chemicals are being added to vape flavors every day, different cotton is being used, and less effective coils are appearing.
Environmental Impact of Vaping and the Side Effects

Diacetyl & Acetyl Propionyl (Flavoring Chemicals) – Found in buttery flavors like popcorn and caramel, can cause “Popcorn Lung.”
Propylene Glycol (PG) & Vegetable Glycerin (VG) – Main vape ingredients that dry out and irritate the lungs. PG breaks down into formaldehyde at high heat.
Formaldehyde & Acrolein (Toxic Byproducts) – Formed at high wattages or from dry hits, causing lung inflammation and long-term damage.
Nicotine (Even in “Nicotine-Free” Vapes) – Increases airway sensitivity and can lead to chronic bronchitis-like symptoms.
Metal Particles (From Coils) – Vaping releases nickel, lead, and chromium, which may cause lung damage and heavy metal poisoning.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) – Found in flavor additives, these can irritate the eyes, throat, and lungs.
Yeah, you should see the list for cigarettes.
Dizziness and Headaches – This is mostly thanks to nicotine. Here’s why:
Blood Vessel Constriction – Nicotine narrows blood vessels, reducing brain oxygen, causing dizziness and headaches.
Oxygen Deprivation – It speeds up heart rate but lowers oxygen to the brain, leading to lightheadedness.
Dopamine Overload – Nicotine spikes dopamine, then crashes, causing fatigue and headaches.
Dehydration – Vaping dries out your body, triggering headaches.
Nicotine Overdose – Too much nicotine can cause nausea, dizziness, and headaches.

Not a fun time—this is exactly why I quit smoking. That, and the next reason.
Increased Heart Rate and Blood Pressure – Another nicotine-driven issue. The reasons are the same as above.
Dry Mouth and Throat Irritation – Caused by the same chemical compounds responsible for coughing and shortness of breath.
Long-Term Effects:
Heart Issues – Nicotine contributes to high blood pressure and heart disease.
Lung Inflammation – Some studies suggest vaping could cause lung scarring (e.g., “popcorn lung”).
Addiction & Withdrawal – Nicotine is highly addictive, leading to dependence.
Gum Disease & Tooth Decay – Vaping reduces saliva, leading to oral health problems.
Numbers 3 and 4, in my opinion, are the most dangerous vaping and the side effects, especially for younger individuals. I struggled with addiction and stress due to nicotine.
I also had terrible teeth and frequently visited the dentist. While not solely caused by vaping, it was a significant factor.
The reality is, vaping and the side effects are still evolving, and while it’s a harm reduction tool for many, it comes with risks that shouldn’t be ignored.
Conclusion
Vaping and its side effects remain a constantly evolving discussion, with research, industry influence, and public opinion shaping the narrative. While it may be a less harmful alternative to smoking, it’s far from harmless. From environmental concerns to health risks, there are undeniable downsides that shouldn’t be ignored.

March 18, 2025While there are so many Vape tricks out there and more being made as we speak. There are plenty one can learn with ease. So we will be splitting this post up into three different categories, making it easier to place yourself in a field at which you can learn in.
Easy, medium and hard are going to be those levels. We will also discuss what types of vape fluid and vapes work best for this and the type of environment in which you practice. This used to be one of my favorite pass time hobbies.
What Works Best
The tools you need
Device:
The device you use plays a critical role, smaller disposable vapes are not going to be the key. Something with a little more power. Ideally mods work the best, something you can optimize, build your own coils and prepare your own Chinese cotton for.
The larger the coil the better, this will give off more smoke. Make sure your coil isn’t too hot though, your don’t want to be inhaling any burnt foreign objects.
Here are some of our best devices we would recommend:

Oxva Nexlim
🔹 Coil Resistance: 0.15Ω – 0.3Ω (Sub-ohm for more vapor, but not ultra-low to avoid fast burnout.)🔹 Wattage: 50W – 80W (Enough power for thick clouds, but not so high that it fries the coil.)🔹 Airflow: Wide open (More air = cooler vape & bigger clouds.)🔹 Puff Technique: Long, slow draws (Fast, hard pulls heat the coil too much.)
Flavor/juice:
This is also essential to get right. VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (Propelyn Glycol). These two bad boys depend on your much smoke or flavor your going to get. VG is your cloud maker, more dense clouds and smooth on the throat, making it the key ingredient.
PG is the one that carries all the flavor, creates thinner clouds and can be rather harsh on the throat which some people enjoy (only if you’re casually smoking though)
so, you’re looking for an 80/20 VG/PG or a 70/30 VG/PG.
Environment
A still cold room works best for smoke tricks with very little to no airflow. What really works is when you fill up the room with smoke before you start, this allows you to see where the room is the most still. After a while of practicing and filling up the room with smoke, there’s something really fun you can do.
Let all the smoke rest and you will see the smoke bank up in the room. A fascinating sight.
✅ No Wind or Airflow – Even a slight breeze can ruin O’s and other tricks. Indoors is usually best.✅ Good Lighting – A dark background with a strong light source (like LED or natural light from the side) makes the smoke pop.✅ Cooler Air – Warm air rises too quickly, dispersing the smoke faster. A slightly cool room helps keep the smoke thick.✅ Closed Space – A small room with minimal ventilation keeps the smoke dense for longer.✅ Clean Air – Avoid areas with fans, AC vents, or open windows that disrupt the smoke’s movement.

Vape Smoke Tricks
How to Do the Waterfall Vape Trick
Take a Long Drag – Inhale a good amount of vapor but hold it in your mouth, not your lungs (like how you’d hold water in your mouth).
Keep Your Mouth Closed – Don’t exhale yet; let the vapor sit in your mouth.
Slowly Open Your Mouth – Let the vapor naturally “fall” out of your mouth.
Guide It with Your Hand or an Object – To make it look even cooler, let the vapor flow over a flat surface (like a table or bottle) to help create the cascading effect.
Dragon Breath
Effect: Blows smoke out of both nostrils and the sides of your mouth, making you look like a dragon.How to do it:
Take a big inhale and keep the vapor in your mouth.
Exhale through your nose while also pushing the vapor out of both sides of your mouth.
Don’t let the vapor go straight forward—keep your lips slightly closed on the front.
Ghost Inhale
Effect: Looks like you release a little ghost of vapor, then suck it back in.How to do it:
Take a big pull and hold the vapor in your mouth.
Open your mouth slightly and let the vapor slowly “ball up” and drift out.
Quickly inhale it back in with a sharp breath.
Medium
Vape smoke Tricks
The Tornado
Effect: Creates a swirling smoke vortex on a flat surface.How to do it: Take a deep pull and try your best not to fill your lungs up with air but more of your mouth and throat. Then slowly tilt your head onto its side and lye it on the table. slowly push the smoke out with your breath so it merely falls onto the table.
Lift your head slowly, flatten your hand so much that it almost looks like its bending backwards. Place your hand in the middle of the smoke on the table, on its side with the pinky side on the table. Make a jerking movement of your hand moving a little to the left or right and upward VERY FAST!
Take a deep drag and gently blow the vapor onto a table in a thick layer.
Use your hand to flick upward in a quick motion, creating a spinning effect.
Works best in still air and on a smooth surface.

Step-by-Step Guide to Blowing O’s
Inhale Deeply
Take a big pull from you’re vape, but hold the vapor in your mouth, not your lungs.
Shape Your Mouth
Form your lips into an O shape—not too wide or too tight.
Keep your tongue pulled back toward your throat.
Control Your Exhale
There are three methods to push out the O’s:
✅ Cough Method (Best for Beginners)
Make a small, controlled cough from your throat (not your chest).
This little push forces the vapor out in a ring shape.
✅ Tongue Flick Method (More Precision)
Push out short bursts of vapor using your tongue like a piston.
Slightly push your tongue forward while exhaling short puffs.
✅ Jaw-Pop Method (Advanced)
Drop your jaw slightly while exhaling in quick, controlled bursts.
This is what pros use for bigger, cleaner rings.
Adjust & Practice
Too fast? The O will be weak and fade quickly.
Too slow? The O won’t form properly.
Try different angles by adjusting your lips and exhale strength.
The jaw method is what I find easiest and works best for me, although the slight cough method is by far the most effective if you are going to be doing it more often and professionally compounded with other tricks.
Small fast o rings
This is extremely similar to normal ones, except follow these instructions.
Keep it strictly in your mouth
Inhale all the smoke into your mouth, keep the tongue at the back with a small hole to the throat allowing airflow.
Smaller o shaped lips
Create a tiny o shape with your lips and try stick them as much out as possible (tightening your cheeks)
Drum your cheek
Now your going to use your finger or the vape to tap your cheek to make small o rings. The mouth acts like a drum, pushing bursts of air out at a time. Once you have learnt how to do this, you can go really fast and it can look incredibly impressive.
Hard
Vape smoke Tricks
The Jellyfish (Ghost O)
How to do it: This is basically the perfect O with smoke blown slightly through it, easy yet hard at the same time.
Blow a big, slow O-ring forward.
Immediately take a small puff and gently push the vapor through the center of the ring.
The ring will expand while the second puff creates the “jellyfish body.”
💡 Pro Tip: Push the second cloud forward slowly for a cleaner effect.
The Lasso
Effect: A smaller ring passes through a larger one, looping it like a lasso.How to do it: This is unbelievably hard and yet if you have the skill can be doable in the first few tries if you know how to blow o rings.
Blow a big, slow-moving O-ring.
Quickly blow a second, smaller O through the center.
The second ring will pull the first into a loop effect.
💡 Pro Tip: Move forward slightly with the second O for a better effect.
